ABOUT ME
As far back as I can remember I have been carving in wood, sketching, and working with designs. I have always known that I wanted to become a furniture designer
Became a cabinet maker from Christensen & Larsen in Copenhagen with highest possible distinction in 1959
Finsihed from The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts (Kunsthåndværkerskolen) in 1959
Already in 1959 I got my first chair in production
Recieved Tuborg foundation travel grant for travel and education in Germany, Switzerland, and Italy in 1962
Worked for Professor Steen Eiler Rasmussen's design studio for 3 years
Started my design studio and workshop in 1965 with my wife Ulla
In 1965 I got my first big succes, it was piedestale table manufactured by Heltborg Møbelfabrik and it was exported to the Middle East, Europe and USA
This succces opened a lot of doors, and in 1969 I travelled to USA with my designs
The prototypes for many of my designs was created in my own workshop, for e.g. Dyrlund, Koefoeds Møbelfabrik, Skive Møbelfabrik, Ansager Møbelfrabrik, Virsidan and many other companies
Dyrlund manufactured exclusive office furniture of my design wich was sold with great succes in the USSR, Middle East, UK, and USA. Especially:
USSR head of state Gorbatjov and Boris Jesltsin were working from Dyrlunds Superskyline office in the Kreml
Coca Cola's headquater in Atlanta
Serveral embassies in Switzerland and Middle East
The Dyrlund office line was the "show piece of the year" in Birmingham Furniture Fair 1978
With Jesper Furniture we designed Home theaters to fit very large TV sets in the USA, the series "Great Dane", "Amadio", and "Palcone" were all a great succces
In 2002 I started to work with Georg Jensen Jewellery company for the Christmas Spoon of the year. This evolved into other designs, like the 2006 Christmas Ornaments
From 1995 I have designed a number of Jewellery stores for member of the "Plaza Group"
Later I started to deign Hydro termic roofs
In 2012 I designed the "Lotus Lamp"
I keep on using my workshop to create unicas ranging from entrance doors to sculptures in wood
Today I have created more than 3.000 designs
